About
How I Support Women Through Life’s Challenges
Hi, I’m Adina Neufeld (she/her), a registered counsellor who helps women untangle anxiety, self-doubt, and the pressure to always do more—whether you’re navigating high expectations, perfectionism, or the hidden struggles of ADHD. My approach is supportive and affirming, focused on helping you find relief, clarity, and confidence without sacrificing what truly matters to you.
Based in Vancouver, BC, I’m a lifelong tea drinker, an animal lover, and happiest when I’m near the ocean. I also know how important it is to have space where you feel understood-counselling can be that space.
Curious about what shaped my approach to counselling? Here’s My Story
Feeling anxious and like you’re not doing enough—doesn’t mean you're broken.
If the pressure to meet high expectations—or to keep up in a world that demands so much—feels exhausting, you’re not alone. Counselling for women can help ease the weight of self-doubt, quiet the inner critic, and bring more clarity and confidence to your life. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and create strategies that support your well-being—without compromising what matters most to you.
Guiding Principles
What Counselling Can Look Like:
Holistic & Individualized
Your well-being is interconnected—mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects all shape your experience. Counselling is tailored to your unique needs.
A Collaborative Approach
You’re the expert on your life. Whether you need practical strategies, space for compassionate reflection, or deeper emotional work, we shape counselling together.
Neuroaffirming & Strengths-Based
For women with late-diagnosed ADHD or self-identified ADHD, neuroaffirming care recognizes both the challenges and strengths that come with ADHD. By embracing neurodiversity, support is tailored to your unique needs—working with the brain, not against it—to navigate a world that often overlooks neurodivergent experiences.
Culturally Responsive & Inclusive
Your identity and experiences matter. Counselling with culturally sensitive care respects and responds to the influence of culture, identity, and lived experiences in shaping mental and emotional well-being.
Practical & Insight-Oriented
Some sessions focus on tools and strategies, while others involve deep emotional processing. We move at a pace that fits your needs.
Counselling isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Some sessions might focus on building tools to reduce anxiety, manage stress, or strengthen boundaries. Others may involve unpacking emotions, healing past wounds, and processing unresolved grief or self-doubt. Wherever we begin, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, with a compassionate, non-judgmental space to explore what truly supports your well-being and helps you move forward.
My Story
Adina Neufeld (She/Her)
For years, I felt the relentless pressure to overachieve—believing that if I just met every expectation, I’d finally feel successful, safe, and belong. But no matter how much I accomplished, it never felt like enough. The weight of perfectionism and self-doubt left me disconnected from myself and what I truly needed.
Through my own journey, I learned that self-compassion isn’t just an abstract idea—it’s a practice. I’ve worked to loosen perfectionism’s grip, redefine success on my own terms, and learned to navigate a busy, nonlinear mind and the complexities of cultural expectations with curiosity instead of criticism. In amongst the mix, I’ve experienced parenting joys and challenges, the pain of loss and the unpredictable ride of menopause. This blend of lived experience and 15 years of supporting women—first as a coach and now as a counsellor—shapes how I guide women towards relief, clarity, and self-trust.
Along the way, I’ve facilitated workshops on managing perfectionistic tendencies, building self-compassion, uncovering hidden strengths, and deepening my understanding of the unique challenges women face. Whether you’re carrying the weight of high expectations or trying to make sense of a late ADHD diagnosis or self-identification, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
In counselling, you’ll have a space where you don’t need to over-explain or justify your experiences. Together, we’ll explore what truly works for you—beyond external pressures and unrealistic standards.
Frameworks That Inform My Work
Every client’s experience is unique, and I tailor our work together using evidence-based approaches that align with your needs and goals. Here are some of the frameworks that guide my trauma-informed practice:
Neuroaffirming Care – With a focus on supporting women with late-diagnosed ADHD or self-identified ADHD, I take an approach that honours the unique ways ADHD brains work, rather than imposing neurotypical expectations. Together, we’ll explore perspectives and strategies that align with your natural strengths and needs, fostering self-understanding and confidence as you navigate life’s challenges.
Culturally Sensitive Care – Your lived experiences, cultural background, and identity shape your mental and emotional well-being. Counselling should honour and integrate these influences. I am committed to providing a space where your unique experiences are seen, valued, and supported. My approach recognizes how culture and intersectionality shape stress, self-perception, and resilience, ensuring that our work together respects and affirms your identity.
Other frameworks that guide my work include:
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
Attachment Theory
